About the Role
As a Domestic Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You'll be responsible for ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest hygiene standards while following health and safety procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning wards, communal areas, offices, bathrooms, and other designated areas.
- Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and maintaining floors.
- Cleaning furniture, fixtures, fittings, internal glass, walls, and other surfaces.
- Removing waste and ensuring correct disposal procedures are followed.
- Replenishing consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
- Operating cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Reporting maintenance issues or faulty equipment.
- Working in line with COSHH regulations and health & safety policies.
- Assisting with basic food preparation and meal service duties where required.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing required documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a cleaning, domestic, hospitality, or customer-focused role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks and move light furniture when required.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
