Catering Assistants Required - Derby and Surrounding Areas

£12.71 per hour and upwards

Blue Arrow is currently looking for experienced Catering Assistants to join our temporary team, supporting a variety of clients across Derby and nearby locations.

We have a mixture of opportunities available, including one-off shifts, part-time assignments and ongoing placements. Whether you're looking for extra work alongside existing commitments or more consistent hours, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may vary depending on the assignment, but can include:

• Supporting kitchen teams with basic food preparation tasks
• Serving food and beverages to customers and service users
• Assisting chefs during busy meal services
• Clearing tables and keeping dining areas presentable
• Washing and sanitising kitchen equipment, plates and utensils
• Restocking ingredients, supplies and serving stations
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout food service areas
• Following all food hygiene, health & safety and site procedures

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will ideally have:

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service or a similar environment
• A good awareness of food hygiene and safe working practices
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• The ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
• A Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous but not essential
• Access to your own transport is helpful, as some client sites may not be easily accessible via public transport

DBS Requirements

Some assignments are within schools, care homes and other regulated settings, where an Enhanced DBS check is required.

If you already hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate, that's great. If not, Blue Arrow can assist with the application process, subject to the relevant fee.
