Site Assistant / Caretaker
Hours: 08.00 - 15.00 hours
Are you practical, reliable and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment? We're looking for a proactive Site Assistant/Caretaker to help maintain our client's school buildings, grounds and facilities, ensuring they are safe, secure, clean and well-presented for our students, staff and visitors.
What you'll do
- Open, close and secure school buildings and gates.
- Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and site checks.
- Keep grounds clean, safe and accessible in all weather conditions.
- Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety checks.
- Liaise with contractors and monitor site access.
- Receive deliveries and assist with moving furniture and equipment.
- Monitor heating, lighting and other building systems.
- Act as a key holder and support out-of-hours site security when required.
What we're looking for
- Previous Caretaking/site assistant expereince within a school is essential.
- A hands-on, practical approach to maintenance and site management.
- Good awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
