Part-Time School Catering Assistant

Location: Kirkby in Ashfield

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 1:30pm

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Contract: Term-time, initially 6 weeks with potential for ongoing work

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join a friendly school kitchen team in Kirkby in Ashfield.

This position is initially for 6 weeks of term-time cover, working Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 1:30pm. There may be potential for the role to continue after the initial 6 weeks.

If this particular position does come to an end, Blue Arrow also has lots of other catering opportunities available across Nottingham and Derby, so there may be further work available to suit you.

The Role:

Your duties will include:

• Helping the chefs with basic food preparation
• General cleaning and keeping the kitchen areas clean and tidy
• Washing up and general kitchen duties
• Taking bins out and disposing of waste correctly
• Supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team as required
• Maintaining good standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Is reliable and has good timekeeping
• Works well as part of a team
• Is happy working in a busy kitchen environment
• Has previous catering or kitchen experience, although this is desirable rather than essential
