Blue Arrow is recruiting on behalf of a successful and expanding manufacturing business based in Sudbury. We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee workshop operations, support production processes, and help maintain high standards across fabrication and welding activities.
This opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual with a background in manufacturing, fabrication, or welding who enjoys leading teams, solving problems, and driving operational excellence.

The role
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you'll be responsible for coordinating daily workshop operations and ensuring production targets are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with management and production teams, you'll help optimise workflows while supporting continuous improvement across the facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising fabrication, welding, and manufacturing activities
- Leading and mentoring workshop operatives
- Coordinating workloads and production schedules
- Monitoring product quality and workmanship standards
- Carrying out regular workshop inspections
- Managing stock levels and material availability
- Promoting and enforcing health and safety compliance
- Maintaining accurate production documentation
- Supporting efficiency and process improvement initiatives
- Providing technical support on fabrication and welding projects
- Assisting with staff training and skills development
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes
- Understanding of EN1090 quality standards
- Experience working within production or workshop operations
- Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on management style
- The ability to motivate teams and drive performance
