Stores Operative - Southampton
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Stores Operative on behalf of our national telecommunications client based in Southampton (SO16).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse or stores professional looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday role with a well-established organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Stores Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and stores environment, including:
- Receiving, checking, and processing inbound deliveries
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
- Sorting and storing stock safely and accurately on racks and shelves
- Completing inventory and stock control activities using scanners and computer systems
- Maintaining accurate stock records and warehouse documentation
- Providing excellent customer service to internal teams, external customers, and contractors
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and organised working environment
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or operational environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Good IT and computer literacy
- Experience using stock control systems, scanners, or warehouse management systems (desirable)
- A full UK driving licence (preferred for occasional driving duties)
- The ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting loads of up to 25kg
- A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
