Sous Chef | £35,000 | Stockbridge | Mostly Daytime Hours
A fantastic bistro-style restaurant in the heart of Stockbridge is looking for a talented Sous Chef to join its growing kitchen team. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting the team, maintaining high standards, and helping deliver fresh, seasonal dishes in a quality-driven environment. With mostly daytime shifts and only one Friday evening service per month, this role offers a rare balance between professional development and personal time.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will:
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the team during service and preparation
- Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal dishes to a consistently high standard
- Assist with menu development and daily specials
- Help oversee stock control, ordering, and food cost management
- Ensure excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards are maintained
- Assist with training and development of junior team members
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
What's on Offer?
- £35,000 per annum
- 40 hours per week
- 5 days out of 7
- Typical shifts: 7:45am - 4:30pm / 5:00pm
- Only one Friday evening shift per month (finishing around 9pm)

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
- Fresh food background with a passion for quality ingredients
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to support and inspire a kitchen team
- Solid understanding of stock control, food safety, and kitchen operations
- Calm and confident during busy services
- Positive attitude and excellent team spirit
