Join Our Team as a School Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a busy school catering team in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a positive impact by helping provide nutritious meals to students every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch meals
- Supporting the cook and kitchen team with food preparation duties
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
- Ensuring all food safety and health & safety procedures are followed
- Providing friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
What We're Looking For
- Previous kitchen, catering, hospitality, or food service experience is desirable but not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Understanding of food hygiene practices (training can be provided)
- Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one
