We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a School Cleaner to join a friendly and dedicated cleaning team based within a local school.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and enjoys working in a school environment.
Position: School Cleaner
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm (20 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £13.90 per hour
Start Date: 2 November 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting surfaces
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Cleaning and sanitising touch points and high-traffic areas
- Restocking cleaning supplies and hygiene products where required
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to the relevant supervisor
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Understanding of health and safety practices
- Enhanced DBS check preferred, or willingness to obtain one
