🧹 School Caretaker - Flexible School Work Across Derbyshire

🕗 Hours: Flexible shifts available, Monday to Friday

💰 Pay: £13.50 - £14.50 per hour

Blue Arrow Derby are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Caretakers to support a variety of schools across Derbyshire. Whether you're looking for full-time work or flexible assignments, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in school environments that suit you.

🔧 What you'll be doing:

🛠️ General site maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY

🚪 Opening and locking school sites when required

🧼 Cleaning classrooms, dining areas, changing rooms and hallways to a high standard

🧽 Litter picking and keeping outdoor areas tidy

🪑 Setting up and putting away furniture for lessons, assemblies and events

📦 Recording deliveries and maintaining stock levels of supplies

🧯 Fire warden duties, including supporting evacuations when required

🗂️ Supporting lunchtime service and helping to clean up afterwards

👷‍♂️ Assisting external contractors and coordinating maintenance works

📋 Carrying out routine compliance and health & safety checks

✅ What we're looking for:

✔️ Previous caretaker, site supervisor, janitor, facilities or handyperson experience is advantageous but not essential

✔️ Enhanced Child DBS dated within the last 12 months (or willingness to obtain one - we can help!)

✔️ Able to lift and move furniture and equipment safely

✔️ Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude

✔️ Able to work independently and manage workloads effectively

✔️ Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and safe working practices
