Production Operative

Location: Nottingham

Salary: Circa £28,400 per annum (to be confirmed)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Shifts: Rotating shifts of 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am

About the Role

We are recruiting for Production Operatives to join a well-established manufacturing business in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous production or machine operating experience who are looking to develop a long-term career within a busy manufacturing environment.

The role involves operating machinery, monitoring production processes, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently and safely. Experience within textile, fabric, knitting, or automated manufacturing environments would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery to meet output targets
• Carry out quality inspections and identify defects or production issues
• Complete machine setups, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting activities
• Accurately record production and quality information
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the production area
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to achieve production targets
• Support continuous improvement activities where required

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Production Operative, Machine Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Factory Operative, or similar
• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Willingness to work rotating shifts
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Experience

• Knitting machine operation experience
• Textile, fabric manufacturing, weaving, or yarn processing experience
• Machine setup, changeover, or adjustment experience
• Experience working with automated production equipment
• Understanding of quality control processes and manufacturing standards

Please note that knitting or textile manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
