Salary
- Production Operative: £13.39 per hour (£26,453 per annum)
- Lead Operative: £14.84 per hour (£29,317 per annum)
There is the opportunity to progress from Production Operative to Lead Operative, with salary increases based on skills learned, performance, and competency within the role. Previous production experience will be beneficial for candidates looking to develop and progress.
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business on a temporary-to-permanent basis, offering long-term career prospects and skill development opportunities.
Working within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient manufacture of silicone sealants and adhesive products. The role involves handling raw materials, operating production equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently manufacture silicone sealants and adhesive products in line with production schedules and quality standards.
- Accurately handle and supply powdered and liquid chemical raw materials, as well as packaging materials, to production teams.
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished products throughout the site.
- Assist with the operation of mixing and processing equipment while following detailed manufacturing instructions.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Monitor and control stock levels through rolling stock counts and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure 5S principles are consistently followed.
- Work flexibly across different production areas as required.
- Support continuous improvement activities and utilise the Carlisle Operating System (COS) ways of working in daily tasks and projects.
- Adhere to all COSHH regulations, PPE requirements, environmental controls, and site safety procedures.
- Help minimise waste and maximise operational efficiency.
- Maintain excellent standards of attendance, punctuality, conduct, and compliance at all times.
- Work independently or as part of a team to support production objectives.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider manufacturing operation.
About You

- The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

- Reliability, honesty, and excellent timekeeping.
- Flexibility to work alternative shifts if required.
- Counterbalance FLT experience or certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
