Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Payroll Clerk to support a local business based in Derby.
This is a part-time opportunity requiring attendance at the Derby office one day per week, ideally on a Tuesday. The role is focused on processing weekly payroll for approximately 10 employees and ensuring wages are calculated and paid accurately and on time.
This would suit an experienced Payroll Clerk, Payroll Administrator, Accounts Assistant or Administrator with payroll responsibilities who is looking for flexible, part-time work.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 10 employees.
- Ensure employee hours, pay rates and payroll data are accurate.
- Calculate wages and process payroll within required deadlines.
- Maintain payroll records and employee information.
- Resolve any payroll-related queries from employees.
- Ensure payroll information is handled confidentially and securely.
- Liaise with management regarding payroll changes or updates.
- Maintain accurate payroll documentation and records.
- Support with general payroll administration as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Applicants should demonstrate experience in most or all of the following areas:
Payroll
- Previous payroll processing experience.
- Experience managing weekly payroll.
- Understanding of payroll procedures and deadlines.
- Ability to process payroll accurately with strong attention to detail.
Administration
- Strong administration and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Experience maintaining employee records and payroll documentation.
IT Skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using payroll software or payroll systems.
- Confidence working with computerised systems and databases.
Personal Attributes
- Reliable and trustworthy.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Professional and confidential approach to sensitive information.

Desirable Experience
