Finance Assistant - Part-Time
We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join a well established organisation in Dundee on a temporary ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for flexible, part time hours within a supportive and busy finance department.
Location: Dundee
Hours: 20hrs per week
Salary: £14.00-£14.40
About the Role
Working as part of the finance team, you will provide support across accounts receivable and credit control activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, ensuring timely payment collection, maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the smooth running of financial processes.
Key Duties
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Create manual invoices and credit notes when required.
- Review aged debt reports and monitor overdue balances.
- Contact customers to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve payment issues.
- Escalate overdue or high-risk accounts where appropriate.
- Assist with payment plans, disputed invoices, and debt recovery processes.
- Carry out credit checks for both new and existing customers.
- Maintain customer credit limits and review payment terms.
- Support colleagues with account-related queries and documentation requests.
- Keep customer records and financial data up to date.
- Reconcile accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Allocate incoming payments accurately and efficiently.
- Produce reports relating to accounts receivable and outstanding debt.
- Monitor debt trends and suggest improvements to collection processes.
- Assist with month-end procedures, audits, and financial reporting.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
