Days: Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Catering Assistant to join a friendly and professional catering team at a prestigious corporate site in Derby.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering or hospitality experience who enjoys delivering exceptional customer service in a busy and rewarding environment. You'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the catering operation, ensuring customers receive a high-quality dining experience while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and service of food and beverages
  • Serving customers in a busy staff restaurant/canteen environment
  • Operating tills and handling customer transactions
  • Supporting the kitchen team with general food preparation
  • Washing pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
  • Clearing and cleaning tables and dining areas
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and service areas
  • Following all Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Hygiene procedures
  • Assisting with stock replenishment and general catering duties as required

  • Experienced in catering, hospitality, food service, or a similar environment
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communicators with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to support different areas of the catering operation

Requirements

  • Previous catering or hospitality experience
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices
  • Food Hygiene Level 1 Certificate (or willingness to obtain one - we can arrange this free of charge)
  • Own transport or a reliable means of travelling to and from site
