Blue Arrow are recruiting for an Experienced Mechanic to join a leading aerospace engineering company specialising in the repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft components.

Salary & Benefits

πŸ’· Salary Band: Β£29,008 - Β£31,677

πŸ’· Shift Allowance: Currently Β£85.74 per week (where applicable)

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for mechanically minded individuals looking to develop their career within the aerospace industry. Previous aerospace experience is preferred, however mechanics from automotive, HGV, plant, agricultural, military, engineering and manufacturing backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

You will become part of a skilled team responsible for the repair and overhaul of commercial aircraft Thrust Reversers and Nacelles, working to OEM, UK CAA and EASA approved standards in a fast-paced, high-precision environment where safety and quality are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repair, overhaul and production tasks on aircraft components.
  • Perform disassembly, repair, assembly and testing of structural assemblies.
  • Work with metal and composite bonded structures, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Complete close tolerance work including drilling, trimming and fastener installation.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and safety.
  • Ensure all documentation and parts control procedures are followed.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and business objectives.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be flexible to work a variety of shift patterns when required.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions.
  • Good IT skills and experience using computer systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, composites, bonded structures, hydraulics or structural assembly would be advantageous but not essential.
