Legal Assistant

Location: Dunstable
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

An established and legal practice is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join its friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a small, family-oriented firm where you'll gain valuable experience and play an important role in supporting fee earners and clients.

The position would suit either:

  • A recent Law graduate looking to secure their first professional role within the legal sector; or
  • An experienced administrator or legal professional seeking a rewarding position within a supportive and close-knit environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and fee earners.
  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence.
  • Managing client files and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, courts and third parties.
  • Handling telephone enquiries and arranging appointments.
  • Managing diaries, meetings and document filing.
  • Supporting case management and compliance procedures.
  • Assisting with general office administration duties.

Skills and Experience

  • A Law degree or previous administrative/legal support experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional and confident communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Experience within a legal environment would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
