We're currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to work within school catering teams across Basingstoke and Andover.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a great work-life balance, with daytime hours and weekends off. You'll play a key role in supporting the kitchen team to provide nutritious meals for students and staff in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
- Serving food during breakfast and lunch service.
- Washing up and operating dishwashing equipment.
- Cleaning kitchen and dining areas to a high standard.
- Assisting with stock rotation and deliveries.
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting chefs and catering staff with day-to-day kitchen duties.
Requirements
Essential
- Valid DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, school, or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of allergen awareness and food safety procedures.
