Junior Sous Chef / Sous Chef
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
Contract: Full-Time
Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including evenings, weekends and varying shift patterns
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Sous Chef / Sous Chef to join our busy leisure and hospitality venue in Eastleigh. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to develop their career within a fast-paced environment, supporting both our restaurant operation and a varied programme of events.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality food across restaurant service, private functions, and special events while maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality food for restaurant and event service.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.
- Ensure food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards are maintained.
- Support stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen team members.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency.
- Work flexibly across various shifts to meet business needs.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up, or an existing Junior Sous Chef/Sous Chef.
- Experience in both restaurant and event/catering service is desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance.
- Passion for fresh food and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
