HR Administrator

Blue Arrow is recruiting on behalf of a school for an experienced HR Administrator to join their support team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused administrator with HR experience to play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day HR and administrative functions.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive HR and administrative support, ensuring employee records, payroll information, compliance documentation and HR processes are maintained accurately and confidentially.
About The Role
As HR Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the employee lifecycle and providing efficient administrative support across the school. You will act as a key point of contact for staff, assist with HR processes, maintain accurate records and support compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support, including managing emails, telephone enquiries, filing and document management.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Support payroll administration, including processing timesheets, overtime, absences and contractual changes.
- Produce HR documentation, including contracts, letters and employment-related correspondence.
- Assist with recruitment administration, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes.
- Maintain and update HR systems and employee records.
- Manage absence records and support the production of relevant reports.
- Process and maintain DBS records and compliance documentation.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as required.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and in accordance with data protection requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to provide an effective HR support service.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A current Enhanced DBS Certificate.
- GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within an administrative role.
- Experience supporting HR administration functions.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A professional and confidential approach to handling information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
- CIPD qualification or relevant HR qualification.
- Previous experience working within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Understanding of employment law and HR best practice.

You will be a proactive and organised professional with excellent administrative and HR support experience. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
Important Information
Due to the nature of this role, a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate is required at the point of application. Candidates who do not currently hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate will not be considered for this position.
