HGV Experience Essential | Commercial Fleet Maintenance
We are recruiting an experienced HGV Fleet Technician / Mechanic to join a growing transport operation responsible for maintaining a large fleet of commercial vehicles.
This role will involve servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet ranging from 3.5-tonne light commercial vehicles through to 26-tonne HGVs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational, helping to minimise downtime and maximise fleet reliability.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair commercial vehicles and HGVs
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and technical faults
- Carry out planned maintenance and vehicle inspections
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and compliance checks
- Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with relevant regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records
- Liaise with external specialist contractors where required
- Support continuous improvements to fleet performance and reliability
Essential Requirements
The key requirement for this position:
Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles (3.5 tonne to 26 tonne)
You will also have:
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- A proactive approach to safety, quality and compliance
- A full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
The following are advantageous but not essential:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent vehicle maintenance qualification
- Experience carrying out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
- Knowledge of DVSA maintenance standards and compliance requirements
- Experience working on refrigerated vehicles
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Licence
- MOT Tester qualification
