Blue Arrow is currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Flat Bed Driver to join a leading logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver with a minimum of 12 month's flatbed driving experience looking for regular weekday work, competitive pay,
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Transport construction / building materials
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and safe working practices.
- Secure cargo for transport using chains, straps, ropes, blocks, covers, and other approved restraint methods.
- Position trailer side protection posts correctly before transit.
- Utilising forklifts to load and unload pallets and product rolls in company's yard and at delivery sites.
- Supervise the loading and tipping of various construction materials.
- Record cargo deliveries accurately and maintain delivery documentation.
- Document and log working hours, mileage, work/rest periods, and retain fuel and toll receipts where required.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure regular maintenance checks are completed and report any vehicle defects promptly.
- Operate vehicle communication equipment including cab computers, telephones, and radios to exchange information with transport teams and other drivers.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and transport regulations.
- Report accidents, incidents, vehicle defects, or delays immediately.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures standards.
Essential Requirements
- Valid UK Category C (Class 2) License.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum 12 month's Class 2 flatbed driving experience.
- Previous experience securing loads using chains and straps.
- Good understanding of load restraint regulations and safe transportation practices.
- Strong Health & Safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
