Health & Safety Manager

Location: Midlands (Hybrid working between Leicester and Birmingham sites)

Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum + benefits

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and promote a strong safety culture across a portfolio of construction and renewable energy projects. This is a hybrid role, split between sites in Leicester and Birmingham, offering the opportunity to influence health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards across multiple operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across construction and renewable energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, industry regulations, and company standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes.
  • Support project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, providing expert safety guidance.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent.
  • Membership of IOSH and/or working towards CMIOSH status desirable.
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of current HSE legislation and best practice.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Midlands sites.
