Lead, Inspire & Support a Successful Education Catering Operation

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Group Chef Manager to oversee catering operations across 34 primary and secondary schools within the Bristol area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong catering professional who enjoys variety, team leadership, and maintaining high standards across multiple sites. You'll play a key role in supporting school catering teams, ensuring excellent food quality, compliance, and service delivery.

The Role

As Group Chef Manager, you will provide operational support and leadership across a portfolio of schools, working closely with Catering Managers and kitchen teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality food service.

You'll be responsible for maintaining standards, driving performance, supporting recruitment and training, and ensuring full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting and leading catering teams across multiple school sites
  • Ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation and customer service
  • Conducting site visits and operational audits
  • Assisting with menu implementation and nutritional compliance
  • Training, coaching and developing catering staff
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and staff retention
  • Monitoring stock control, purchasing and food cost management
  • Ensuring compliance with all food safety, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
  • Providing hands-on kitchen support where required

About You

  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Area Support Manager, Group Chef Manager or similar multi-site catering role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience within education, contract catering or large-scale food service environments
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and allergen management
  • Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Bristol area
