Goods In Operative - Day Shift - FLT Counterbalance

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload deliveries using a Counterbalance Forklift and pump truck.
  • Check and book in goods accurately, ensuring all items match the delivery paperwork.
  • Follow all goods-in procedures, maintaining precise records within the warehouse management system.
  • Store and move stock using handheld scanners to ensure correct put-away and traceability.
  • Work safely in a temperature‑controlled environment, handling, decanting, and relocating products as required.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, complying with company policies at all times.
  • Use warehouse space and MHE efficiently while meeting all health & safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to support efficient workflow and best practice.
  • Provide support to other departments when needed, including:
    • Supplying raw materials to Debox Production
    • Delivering dry goods to the Packing Room
    • Assisting the Out‑loading Team during peak periods

Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience in QA or food safety within food manufacturing (dairy background is an advantage).
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, BRC and other food safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a thorough, methodical approach to checks and documentation.
  • Confident in identifying and challenging non‑conformances.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, able to liaise across all levels - from production staff to senior management.
  • Well‑organised, able to manage multiple checks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good numeracy and accurate record‑keeping abilities.
  • Basic IT skills, including use of quality management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with audits, non‑conformance reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of allergen controls, traceability, and retailer standards.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm
  • On-site role
  • £13.28 per hour
  • Permanent position
