- Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
- Friday: 07:00 - 15:00
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join a busy scaffolding warehouse in Sudbury. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations, ensuring scaffolding equipment is processed efficiently, maintained to a high standard, and prepared for customer deliveries and collections.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term employment with the potential to secure a permanent position.
Main Duties
- Load and unload scaffolding materials from vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Sort, store, and organise scaffold tubes, fittings, boards, and related equipment.
- Inspect returned stock for damage, defects, or wear and report any issues.
- Clean, repair, and maintain scaffolding equipment using hand and power tools where required.
- Accurately pick, prepare, and pack customer orders for dispatch.
- Support routine stock counts and inventory control activities.
- Carry out basic maintenance and refurbishment of equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Work closely with warehouse colleagues, drivers, and other departments to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the warehouse and yard.
- Undertake any other duties as required to support the business.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, yard, manufacturing, construction, or similar hands-on environment.
- Ability to safely and confidently use hand tools and power tools.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties, including lifting heavy materials.
- Reliable, hardworking, and proactive with a positive attitude.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Own transport is essential due to the location of the site.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with scaffolding materials or construction equipment.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures within a warehouse or industrial environment.
