Gardener (Part-Time)
Hampshire Area 3 Days per Week | Flexible Hours Salary: Competitive and Dependent on Experience
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Gardener to join a well-established hospitality venue in Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces while helping to cultivate fresh produce used within a busy restaurant.
This role offers flexibility across three days per week and would suit a self-motivated individual who can work independently, manage their workload effectively, and consistently maintain high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all gardens, grounds, borders, lawns, pathways, and outdoor spaces to an exceptional standard.
- Ensure the grounds remain attractive, welcoming, and presentation-ready throughout the year.
- Plan, plant, cultivate, and care for seasonal flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Grow, maintain, and harvest fruit, vegetables, herbs, and other produce for use within the restaurant.
- Monitor plant health and implement appropriate care programmes.
- Manage watering, feeding, pruning, weeding, and pest control activities.
- Carry out general garden maintenance and landscaping duties as required.
- Keep gardening equipment and tools in good working order.
- Work proactively to identify improvements and enhancements to the grounds.
- Liaise with management regarding seasonal planting plans and produce availability.
About You
- Previous gardening, horticultural, kitchen garden, estate gardening, or grounds maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, cultivation, and seasonal gardening practices.
- Experience growing fruit, vegetables, and herbs would be highly desirable.
- Able to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
- Practical, hands-on approach with a strong eye for detail.
- Passionate about creating beautiful outdoor environments.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of taking ownership of the role.
- Relevant horticultural qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
