Front of House / General Catering Assistant

Pay Rate: £12.71 - £13.71 per hour

Working Pattern: Various shifts, 5 days out of 7

We are currently recruiting for a Front of House / General Catering Assistant to join the catering team at a prestigious private school. This role is ideal for a professional, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a high-quality hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving food and beverages to students, staff, and visitors.
• Working behind the service counter during meal service.
• Operating tills and processing cashless/card payments accurately.
• Maintaining attractive and well-stocked food displays.
• Assisting with basic food preparation when required.
• Clearing and cleaning dining areas to a high standard.
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations.
• Supporting hospitality events and special school functions.

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, cafés, restaurants, or school catering environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience handling payments and operating tills.
• High standards of personal presentation and personal hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate required (or willingness to obtain one).
• Food Hygiene Certificate desirable but not essential.
