Reach Truck Driver Job in Derby
Blue Arrow is currently recruiting experienced Reach Truck Drivers / FLT Line Feeders for a busy manufacturing and production site based at Pride Park, Derby (DE24).
This position involves operating a Reach Truck FLT at heights above 8 metres, supplying production lines with materials and moving stock safely between warehouse and manufacturing areas.
Previous experience operating a Reach Truck above 8 metres is essential for this vacancy.
Applicants must hold a valid Reach Truck licence and have a minimum of 12 months' Reach Truck operating experience.
A Counterbalance FLT licence or Counterbalance experience is desirable but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Reach Truck Driver / Line Feeder, your duties will include:
- Operating a Reach Truck safely at heights over 8 metres
- Supplying manufacturing and production lines with components and materials
- Moving pallets and stock between warehouse and production areas
- Loading and unloading goods where required
- Replenishing materials to prevent production delays
- Completing daily FLT safety and equipment checks
- Supporting accurate stock control and inventory processes
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Working efficiently to meet production and delivery requirements
- Operating a Counterbalance FLT if appropriately trained and required
Essential Requirements
To progress with your application, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Hold a valid Reach Truck FLT licence
- Have a minimum of 12 months' Reach Truck operating experience
- Have proven, hands-on experience operating a Reach Truck at heights over 8 metres
- Have recent experience operating a Reach Truck
- Have previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, production or material-handling environment
- Demonstrate good health and safety awareness
- Be available to work at least 38 hours per week
- Be able to work a rotating 3-shift pattern covering days, afternoons and nights
- Have reliable transport or travel arrangements for every required shift
- Be able to arrive at Pride Park, Derby for 06:00 starts
- Be able to reliably travel home following shifts ending at or after 23:00
Important Reach Truck Experience Requirement
Experience operating a Reach Truck above 8 metres is essential.
Candidates who have a Reach Truck licence but do not have previous practical experience operating above 8 metres will not meet the essential requirements for this position.
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be an advantage:
- Counterbalance FLT licence
- Counterbalance Forklift operating experience
- Production or manufacturing line-feeding experience
- Material handling and stock replenishment
- Loading and unloading pallets
- Warehouse inventory or stock-control experience
Counterbalance experience is desirable, but it is not an essential requirement.
Shift Pattern and Pay Rates
You must be able to work the full rotating 3-shift pattern, including days, afternoons and nights.
Day Shift
06:00 to 14:30
£15.79 per hour
Afternoon Shift
14:30 to 23:00
£17.75 per hour
Night Shift
Sunday: 20:30 to 06:00
Monday to Thursday: 23:00 to 06:00
£18.79 per hour
Applicants who are unable to work all three shift patterns will not meet the availability requirements for this role.
Travel and Transport Requirements

The role is based at Pride Park, Derby (DE24) and the working hours include early morning starts and late-night finishes.
You must have reliable travel arrangements that allow you to:
- Arrive on site for 06:00 starts
- Travel home after 23:00 finishes
- Attend the required day, afternoon and night shifts
- Reliably attend work throughout the full 3-shift rotation
You do not need to own a car. However, you are responsible for ensuring you have reliable transport to and from the site for every shift.
Public transport may not be suitable for all shift times, so candidates should check their journey before applying.
