What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for complex hardware platforms
- Develop low-level software and firmware for embedded systems and microprocessor-based products
- Collaborate with Electronics Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Project Teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Integrate software with sensors, electronic control systems, communication interfaces, and hardware architectures
- Debug, analyse, and optimise performance-critical systems
- Support system integration, verification, validation, and testing activities
- Contribute to technical design reviews and software architecture decisions
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software integration challenges
- Ensure software meets reliability, performance, safety, and security requirements
- Support product development from concept and design through to deployment and ongoing improvement
Skills & Experience
We're interested in professionals who can demonstrate experience in some of the following areas:
- Commercial experience developing Embedded Software or Firmware solutions
- Strong programming skills in C and/or C++
- Experience developing for Embedded Linux environments
- Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Experience working with ARM-based processors and microcontrollers
- Hardware integration and low-level software development experience
- Understanding of serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, or USB
- Experience with debugging tools, test equipment, and performance optimisation techniques
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles within regulated or engineering-led environments
- Experience using Git and version control systems
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
