About the Role
Blue Arrow is delighted to be recruiting for a Commis Chef to join a prestigious catering operation in Oxford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to establish a long-term career within hospitality and catering. Working alongside experienced chefs, you will receive hands-on training, develop your culinary skills, and gain exposure to high-quality food preparation in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes.
- Support senior chefs in delivering exceptional food standards and service.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, labelling, and temperature procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with stock management, deliveries, and the correct storage of ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Support hospitality events, private dining, and special functions as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
- Contribute to menu development and help minimise food waste where appropriate.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous food preparation or basic cooking experience.
- Has a genuine passion for food and cooking.
- Is keen to learn and develop their culinary skills.
- Enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Can work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery, Practical Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
