We're recruiting for a Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a welcoming education site on the outskirts of Southampton.
Responsible for serving approximately 150 pupils each day, you'll work alongside one Catering Assistant to deliver a high-quality lunch service while maintaining excellent standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.
This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced chef seeking a rewarding role with school holidays off, no evenings, and no weekends.
The Role
🍽️ Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for approximately 150 pupils daily
👨🍳 Lead and support a Catering Assistant in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
📦 Manage stock control, ordering, and food budgets
✅ Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and health & safety regulations
📋 Complete all necessary kitchen administration and record keeping
🌟 Maintain exceptional standards of food quality and service
🤝 Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider school community
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager
✔ Strong organisational and leadership skills
✔ Knowledge of food safety and health & safety procedures
✔ Experience within education or contract catering environments is desirable
✔ Passion for delivering fresh, nutritious meals
✔ A positive and professional approach
