Lead a School Catering Operation in Cornwall

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef Manager to lead the catering operation at a busy education site in Cornwall, serving approximately 140 pupils daily.

Working alongside one Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality lunch service, managing day-to-day kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Managing the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen

✅ Preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for approximately 140 pupils

✅ Leading and supporting a Catering Assistant

✅ Menu planning and food preparation

✅ Managing stock control, ordering, and food budgets

✅ Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards

✅ Ensuring compliance with HACCP and food safety procedures

✅ Building positive relationships with school staff and pupils

✅ Completing kitchen administration and record keeping

What We're Looking For

✔ Previous Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager experience

✔ Strong organisational and leadership skills

✔ Experience within education, contract catering, or high-volume catering environments desirable

✔ Knowledge of food safety legislation and stock management

✔ Passion for delivering nutritious, appealing meals

✔ A positive, reliable, and professional approach
