The Role
As a Chef de Partie, you'll play an important role in the preparation and delivery of meals for children, students, residents, patients, staff, and visitors.
You'll help ensure every meal is prepared safely, served on time, and meets the highest standards of quality, nutrition, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to agreed standards
- Managing your designated kitchen section during service
- Supporting daily food production for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special dietary requirements
- Working closely with Head Chefs, Catering Managers, and wider kitchen teams
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Supporting stock management, stock rotation, and waste reduction initiatives
- Maintaining clean, organised, and efficient kitchen areas
- Assisting with menu preparation and seasonal menu changes
- Supporting junior kitchen team members where required
- Helping deliver a positive dining experience for service users, residents, pupils, patients, and guests
What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from individuals with experience as:
- Chef de Partie
- Catering Chef
- School Chef
- Care Home Chef
- Healthcare Chef
- Senior Commis Chef
- Line Chef
- Kitchen Supervisor
- Residential Catering Chef
- Banqueting Chef
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations
- Experience preparing meals at volume whilst maintaining quality
- A strong understanding of dietary requirements and allergen awareness
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A positive and reliable approach to work
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Enhanced DBS Opportunities Available
Many of the environments we support require an Enhanced DBS Check due to working within:
- Primary and secondary schools
- Colleges and educational settings
- Care homes and nursing homes
- Specialist education provisions
- Residential care environments
- Healthcare and community settings
Candidates who already hold an Enhanced DBS may be able to start opportunities more quickly. If you do not have a Enhanced DBS, have a chat with one of our consultants regarding an application.
