School Chef (Ad Hoc) - September Start
Location: Middlesbrough, Darlington and Redcar
Hours: 8:00am - 2:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour
Contract Type: Ad Hoc / Temporary
Are you an experienced Chef looking for flexible work within school catering? We are recruiting School Chefs to support school kitchens across Middlesbrough, Darlington and Redcar with ad hoc shifts and ongoing available from September.
About the Role
Working as part of a busy catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for pupils while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and cooking meals in line with school menus
- Managing food preparation and portion control
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Supporting and supervising catering assistants when required
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Assisting with stock control and ordering where necessary
What We're Looking For
- Previous Chef experience, ideally within education, care, or contract catering
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A flexible and reliable approach to work
- Food Hygiene Certificate
