You may be placed in environments such as:

• Residential Care Homes and Supported Living Services
• Primary and Secondary Schools
• Nurseries and Early Years Settings
• Industrial and Corporate Catering Facilities
• Hotels, Restaurants and Leisure Venues
• Conference Centres, Event Venues and Large Catering Operations

DBS Requirements

Some roles, particularly those within education, childcare and care environments, require an Enhanced DBS certificate covering children, adults or both.

A DBS registered with the Update Service is preferred, although certificates issued within the last 12 months may also be accepted.

If you do not currently hold a suitable DBS, Blue Arrow can assist with arranging one. Please be aware that a charge will apply for new DBS applications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, duties may include:

• Supporting food preparation and basic kitchen duties
• Serving food, beverages and refreshments to customers
• Maintaining high levels of cleanliness within kitchen and dining areas
• Following food safety, allergen awareness and health & safety procedures
• Assisting catering teams during busy service periods
• Washing kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils
• Replenishing stock and helping to keep storage areas organised

What We're Looking For

Successful applicants will ideally have:

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service or customer-facing positions
• An understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices
• A Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but not essential)
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A dependable and flexible approach to work
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Access to transport, which can be beneficial when travelling to different assignments
