Car Park Marshal / Banksman
Location: Romford, Essex
Hours: 2:30pm to 5:30pm Monday to Friday
This would be a Fixed Term role until July 2027
About the Role
We are looking for a vigilant and personable Car Park Marshal / Banksman to support the safe movement of pupils, parents, and vehicles outside a busy school in Romford.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring children and parents can cross the road safely at designated crossing points, while also helping to manage traffic flow and discourage unsafe parking around the school premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist parents and children crossing the road safely at designated crossing areas.
- Ensure vehicles adhere to the school's traffic management procedures.
- Prevent and report unauthorised or unsafe parking in restricted areas.
- Direct vehicles safely where required and maintain a visible presence during peak school times.
- Promote a safe and positive environment for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with members of the public.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or hazards to the appropriate school representative.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Banksman, Traffic Marshal, Security Officer, or similar role is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in busy environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Essential
✅ Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate (must be current and valid)
✅ Right to work in the UK
✅ Strong awareness of health and safety practices
