We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team. You'll play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while preparing high-quality coffees and beverages that keep our customers coming back.

What We're Looking For

As a Barista, you'll have:

  • A passion for coffee and specialty beverages, with a good understanding of bean grinding, espresso extraction and milk frothing
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of workplace health, safety and hygiene procedures
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

As a Barista, you will:

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea and speciality drinks
  • Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including grinders and espresso machines
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming experience for every guest
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Recommend menu items and upsell products where appropriate
  • Process customer payments using EPOS systems
  • Ensure workstations, equipment, seating areas and utensils are cleaned and sanitised throughout the day
  • Assist with stock ordering, deliveries and inventory management
  • Prepare and serve food items in line with company standards
  • Build positive relationships with both regular and new customers
  • Follow all health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures
  • Maintain consistency in food and beverage preparation and presentation
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Promote coffee knowledge and help customers discover new products and flavours

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience preparing and serving coffee
  • Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organised during peak trading periods

Desirable

  • Food Hygiene Level 1 Certificate
  • Experience using Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems
  • Previous experience in hospitality, retail, cafés, coffee shops, restaurants or front-of-house roles
  • Secondary/high school education or equivalent
