We are recruiting for an Area Chef Manager to support a portfolio of education catering sites across Central Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced catering professional who enjoys leading from the front, supporting multiple teams, and making a real impact across a diverse range of schools.
Working across a mixture of primary and secondary education sites, you'll provide operational support, cover management absence, maintain catering standards, and ensure excellent food quality and customer service throughout the region.
📍 Position Details
Role: Area Chef Manager
Location: Bristol (Central Bristol Sites)
Hours: 30 Hours Per Week
Contract: 38 Weeks Per Year (Term Time Only)
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm
Environment: Primary & Secondary Schools
🍽️ The Role
As an Area Chef Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting catering operations across multiple education sites, ensuring kitchens run smoothly and service standards remain consistently high.
Key responsibilities include:
✅ Providing management and operational cover across multiple sites
✅ Supporting and developing on-site catering teams
✅ Preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals
✅ Driving food safety, compliance, and health & safety standards
✅ Assisting with training, audits, stock control, and ordering
✅ Building strong relationships with school stakeholders and catering teams
✅ Troubleshooting operational challenges and ensuring service excellence
⭐ What We're Looking For
- Previous Chef Manager, Area Support Manager, or Senior Catering Management experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience within education or contract catering environments
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working across multiple locations
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
- Ability to comply with Bristol's Clean Air Zone requirements
