The Role
As an Ad Hoc Kitchen Assistant, you will provide essential support to busy kitchens across a range of venues, including:
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Pubs
- Care Homes
- Schools and Colleges
- Contract Catering Sites
- Event Venues
You will play a key role in ensuring kitchens run smoothly by assisting chefs and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Supporting chefs during busy service periods
- Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Helping to maintain stock rotation and kitchen organisation
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or catering experience is beneficial but not essential
- A positive and proactive attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Understanding of food hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
