Critical Power Maintenance Engineer - Depot

About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced engineer looking to take the next step in your career within critical power? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team where your technical expertise will play a key role in keeping essential power equipment operating at peak performance.

This is a hands-on, depot-based role where you'll take ownership of maintaining, repairing, and preparing specialist power equipment for deployment. If you enjoy problem-solving, fault-finding, and working with a wide range of electrical systems, this role offers both challenge and progression.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on critical power equipment
  • Preparing equipment to ensure it is fully operational and ready for project use
  • Working on systems including:
    • Loadbanks (AC/DC)
    • Generators
    • UPS systems
    • Transformers
    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    • Power distribution equipment
  • Conducting testing and inspections prior to dispatch
  • Diagnosing faults and restoring equipment efficiently
  • Supporting field teams with technical guidance when required
  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a service, maintenance, or workshop engineering role (critical power, generators, or electrical systems)
  • Strong electrical knowledge with the ability to fault-find on three-phase systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Hands-on experience with power equipment such as loadbanks, UPS, or transformers
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds)
  • 18th Edition or Testing & Inspection
  • FLT licence
