Class 2 driver
Core Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operations: Perform daily pre- and post-journey walkaround checks (brakes, tyres, oil) and report defects.
- Loading and Securing: Safely load, unload, and secure goods using equipment like tail lifts, straps, or cages.
- Route Management: Plan and adapt travel routes to meet strict delivery schedules while avoiding traffic and road hazards.
- Compliance: Operate within the legal working time directive and driver's hours regulations using digital tachographs.
- Documentation: Complete delivery paperwork, logbooks, and handheld device updates.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients or warehouse staff upon arrival at delivery and collection points.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Licence: Valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
- Cards: Valid Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Record: Clean driving record is highly preferred (typically no more than 6 penalty points, and no major endorsements such as DR or DD).
- Physical & Mental Fitness: Ability to pass necessary medicals and maintain high concentration during varied weather and traffic conditions.

- Strong geographical knowledge and route planning abilities.
- Excellent time management and self-discipline.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- High awareness of the UK Highway Code and transport regulations.
