Commis Chef - Permanent

Location: Staffordshire countryside (own transport required)

Salary: £30,049.66 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including weekends and holidays

Typical Shifts: 08:00 - 17:30 and 13:30 - 23:00

Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a permanent Commis Chef on behalf of a prestigious hospitality client based in a beautiful rural setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef looking to develop their career within a supportive, high-quality kitchen environment.


The Role

As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in delivering high standards of food preparation and service. You will gain hands-on experience across different sections while developing your culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes
  • Support chefs across different kitchen sections as required
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Follow food safety and health & safety regulations at all times
  • Ensure food is prepared and served to the required quality standards
  • Help with stock rotation and storage procedures
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and efficient
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

About You

Essential:

  • Passion for food and a desire to build a career in hospitality
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Understanding of food hygiene standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • Previous kitchen experience
  • Food Safety Level 2 certificate
  • Relevant catering or culinary qualification

Additional Information

  • 45 hours per week
  • 5 days out of 7, including weekends
  • Flexibility required to meet business needs
  • Due to location, own transport is essential
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
