Blue Arrow is urgently recruiting for an Experienced CAD Designer to join our clients team based in the Swansea area.

Salary: £35,000-£40,000p.a Depending on experience

Hours of work: Hours between 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (working 8.5 hours per day: 40 hour paid week)

Contract: Permanent

Job Summary:

  • To develop and test existing and new products, applying engineering principles and CAD software to create accurate drawings and technical documentation for performance, safety, and cost effectiveness while managing projects from concept to manufacturing.
  • Create precise, to-scale Auto CAD drawings including all components needed to meet and improve the manufacturing processes requirements
  • Design optimisation by reviewing designs to enhance manufacturability (DFM) and constructability
  • Project management to ensure accuracy and compliance that meet required standards
  • To ensure all documentation is checked for errors and meets high standard quality control before dispatch
  • To support the Sales Manager in driving the growth of the bespoke product range by ensuring all solutions meet customer specifications and comply with relevant building regulations across new and developing markets.

Skills Required:

  • 2+ years' experience in product design in a manufacturing environment working with an engineering team.
  • Advanced proficiency and fully conversant in AutoCAD (2D/3D)
  • Experience in drafting GRP Kiosks or similar buildings including ability to recognise strength and weather requirements would be adventurous
  • Good workable understanding & implementation of the company's ISO9001 Quality Management Systems including ability to be accountable and responsibility for version control of our product designs
  • Strong IT skills, including Office, Excel and Word and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use initiative, manage and prioritise own workload and meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to produce technical reports and communicate with clients and team members
