Are you ready to step into a Sous Chef role with a leading contract catering company and enjoy a better work/life balance?

Key Info:

  • Location: Salisbury
  • Salary: £14.18p/h (£29,473.60)
  • Shifts: 5/7, 40 hours plus paid overtime
  • Schedule: 1 in 3 weekends
    • Early shifts: 5/6am-2/2:30pm
    • Late shifts: 11pm-7:30pm

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of fresh produce and ingredients
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Confident working independently and supporting the Head Chef
  • Experience across a variety of kitchen environments and cuisines
  • Solid working knowledge of HACCP procedures
  • Understanding of food production methods and kitchen systems
  • Open to new ideas, processes, and continuous improvement
  • Positive, professional, and approachable manner

Duties Will Include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
  • Preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to agreed standards
  • Supervising and training junior kitchen staff
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene
  • Ensuring all customer dietary and allergen requirements are met
  • Playing a key role in driving a positive kitchen culture and performance

To Be Successful, You'll Need:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
  • Food Hygiene certificate and allergen awareness training
  • Basic knowledge of health & safety (COSHH etc.) - training available
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and quality food
  • Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
