About the Role
Are you an experienced electrical engineer looking to work on high‑value, critical power systems? This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist engineering team where you'll play a key role in maintaining essential power equipment across a wide range of projects.
This is a hands-on, field-based role involving travel across the UK, with occasional travel into Europe. You'll act as a technical expert, ensuring critical power systems are maintained, repaired, and ready for deployment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), diagnostics, and repairs on-site
- Preparing and maintaining equipment to ensure full operational readiness
- Working on a variety of critical power equipment, including:
- Loadbanks (AC/DC, resistive/reactive)
- Generators
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
- Transformers
- Power distribution equipment
- Fault-finding on complex electrical systems, including three-phase
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with regulations
- Completing reports, service documentation, and inspections
- Supporting wider operational teams with technical expertise
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a field service or maintenance engineering role
- Strong electrical background with fault-finding capability
- Experience working with critical power or similar systems (generators, UPS, transformers, etc.)
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience working with three-phase systems
- Competence using electrical testing equipment
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- LV/HV qualifications
- Experience with loadbanks or power distribution
- Background in power generation, utilities, or critical infrastructure
