About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced engineer looking to take the next step in your career within critical power? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team where your technical expertise will play a key role in keeping essential power equipment operating at peak performance.
This is a hands-on, depot-based role where you'll take ownership of maintaining, repairing, and preparing specialist power equipment for deployment. If you enjoy problem-solving, fault-finding, and working with a wide range of electrical systems, this role offers both challenge and progression.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on critical power equipment
- Preparing equipment to ensure it is fully operational and ready for project use
- Working on systems including:
- Loadbanks (AC/DC)
- Generators
- UPS systems
- Transformers
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Power distribution equipment
- Conducting testing and inspections prior to dispatch
- Diagnosing faults and restoring equipment efficiently
- Supporting field teams with technical guidance when required
- Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a service, maintenance, or workshop engineering role (critical power, generators, or electrical systems)
- Strong electrical knowledge with the ability to fault-find on three-phase systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Hands-on experience with power equipment such as loadbanks, UPS, or transformers
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds)
- 18th Edition or Testing & Inspection
- FLT licence
