Job Role and Responsibilities
- The Head Chef is responsible for managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
- They lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team to create a positive, high-performing culture.
- The role involves planning, preparing, and presenting food according to menus, recipes, and standards.
- They ensure food is delivered on time, in correct quantities, and meets quality standards.
- The Head Chef maintains compliance with food safety, hygiene, allergen management, and health and safety legislation.
- They communicate effectively with the kitchen team and manage stock, costs, and waste to maximize efficiency.
- The role includes supporting menu development, food innovation, and responding to customer feedback.
- They oversee training, inductions, performance reviews, and ongoing team development.

Experience and Qualifications
- Passion for food service excellence and supporting kitchen leadership.
- Strong cooking skills and ability to deliver consistent quality.
- Experience supervising kitchen teams and working under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and production planning.
- Background in contract catering or high-volume kitchens preferred.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification or willingness to obtain it.
- Catering qualifications are desirable but not essential.
