Blue Arrow is recruiting for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a well-established transport and engineering operation based in Perth. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong engineering knowledge and people management experience to oversee a busy workshop supporting a large fleet of vehicles.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing teams, and is passionate about maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and operational excellence.
The Role
As Workshop Manager, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard while leading a team of Engineers, Technicians and Cleaning Operatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and supporting a team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles
- Planning and prioritising maintenance, servicing and repair activities
- Managing workshop productivity and ensuring work is completed efficiently
- Identifying training and development opportunities for team members
- Carrying out quality checks on completed maintenance work
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop operation
- Maintaining high standards of vehicle availability and fleet presentation
What We Are Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- Strong engineering background with knowledge of mechanical, electrical and bodywork systems
- Previous experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team
- Good understanding of PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) operations
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership and people management skills
- Ability to analyse situations, make informed decisions and solve problems effectively
- A proactive and organised approach with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
