Nursery Cook - Leek, Staffordshire 🍽️👶

Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with an education‑based company, and they are looking to recruit a Cook to join their team on a permanent basis at their nursery in Leek.

⏰ Hours: Full‑time, Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 3:00pm - 35 hours per week

💷 Salary: £25,316

What duties are involved in the Cook role? 🍲

As a Nursery Cook, you'll play a key role in preparing nutritious, freshly made meals while ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and safely.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Catering for dietary needs - preparing meals for children with allergies or specific requirements
• Maintaining exceptional hygiene - working to Level 2 Food & Hygiene, CIEH Food Safety, Health & Safety and Ofsted standards
• Creating positive mealtime experiences - ensuring children are safe and enjoy rich, engaging eating experiences
• Managing stock - maintaining stock levels and ensuring effective stock rotation
• Following COSHH - adhering to COSHH and all relevant safety regulations

What will you bring to the Cook role? 👩‍🍳✨

You'll thrive in this role if you are a dedicated, safety‑conscious cook who enjoys being part of a warm, friendly team. You will need:

• Level 2 Food & Hygiene
• Experience in a commercial/education based setting kitchen - assistant cook/chef or similar
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
• A positive, reliable and flexible approach
